This facility at Thaba Tshwane is one of the most recent feathers in Liviero's cap, and it was a proud moment for the company when it took top honours in the Heritage Developments category at this year's SAPOA Awards, comments Liviero Group CEO Neil Cloete.
"With a final contract value of R465 million, it is one of the largest building contracts executed for the South African government in Tshwane. We are extremely proud to have been part of this historic and strategic project, which was completed to the highest quality standards."
Liviero Building MD, Brad Boertje adds "The scope of this contract, which Liviero undertook for the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the South African Department of Defence, included the upgrade of five heritage buildings, the construction of three new, large warehouse facilities (20 000m2 in total), administration and conferencing facilities, as well as extensive security and civil works. A total of twelve buildings of different sizes were constructed. The facility also boasts a 4 Star Green Star rating."
This depot is the primary logistics and distribution facility for pharmaceuticals for the Department of Defence in Gauteng. It was designed by Jeremie Malan Architects in joint venture with Impendulo Design Architects.
The awards were announced at the 46th Annual SAPOA International Convention and Exhibition, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The Heritage Award was one of only five overall category winners while there were also ten individual category winners.
